การลง Beryl Core ไม่ใช่เรื่องยากอีกต่อไปสำหรับเพื่อน Ubuntu ที่กระหาย Beryl Core บน X Desktop ให้มีลูกเล่นต่างๆ บน Xwindow ok เรามาเริ่มขั้นตอนต่างๆ ดั่งนี้

1. Graphic Card Drivers and 3D Video Acceleration
Graphic Card ที่เราใช่นั่น รองรับ XGL Desktop 3D หรือไม่ โดยการพิ่ม
คำสั่งดั่งนี้
glxinfo | grep direct บน Terminal ถ้ามีคำว่า
direct rendering: Yes แสดงว่า Graphic Card support 3D
สำหรับ ATi graphics cards เช็กโดยใช้คำสั่ง
fglrxinfo
2. Adding the Beryl Project repositories มีอยู่ 2 วิธีใหญ่ๆ ดั่งนี้
sudo /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/ feisty main จากนั้น save แล้วใช้คำสั่ง
sudo apt-get update บน Terminal

ใช้ได้บน beryl-ubuntu or beryl-kubuntu ทำตามเลยก็แล้วกัน ให้ใช้คำสั่งที่อยู่ข้างล่าง มี 3 ตัวเลือกให้เลือก เอาแค่ตัวเลือกเดี่ยวน่ะ
wget http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/root@lupine.me.uk.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/3v1deb/DD800CD9.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
wget http://www.beerorkid.com/compiz/quinn.key.asc -O – | sudo apt-key add -

จากนั้น ให้ใช้คำสั่ง sudo apt-get update

สำหรับ Ubuntu/Gnome:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl beryl-ubuntu
สำหรับ Kubuntu/KDE:
sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl beryl-kubuntu
การแก้ไข้ สำหรับ beryl-core เวอร์ชัน 0.2.0 เมื่อเริ่มครั้งแรก ให้พิมพ์

สำหรับ Ubuntu/Gnome:
gksudo gedit /etc/apt/preferences

สำหรับ Kubuntu/KDE:
kdesu kate /etc/apt/preferences

แก้ไข้ ดั้งนี้

Package: *
Pin: release o=lupine
Pin-Priority: 1000
จากนั้นก็ Save and close windows จบขั้นตอนการติดตั้ง

การเริ่ม Beryl Core on Ubuntu 7.04 โดย อัตโนมัตเมื่อเรา Log-in
ให้คลิกที่ System แล้วคลิก Preferences คลิก Sessions แล้วคลิก Add
แล้วพิมพ์ Beryl บันทัตแรก Beryl-Manager บันทัตสอง
จากนั้นก็ให้เพิ่มอีกโดย คลิก Add แล้วพิมพ์ Beryl Setting บันทัตแรก Beryl Settings Manager บันทัตสอง แล้วลอง Restart XWindows
